The Cosmetology Course Curriculum:
1600 Hours The Cosmetology course study consists of 1600 clock hours covering all phases of cosmetology, skin care, manicuring and pedicureing mandated by the California State Department of Barbering and Cosmetology pursuant to section 7316 of the Barbering and Cosmetology licensing examination and help the student to obtain the knowledge and skills needed for any level position in the beauty field. Passing the exam is a requisite in order to obtain a Cosmetology license. The license is a requirement to operate as a Cosmetologist in the State of California. Skills to be developed:
The Knowledge and skills will prepare you for work as a hairstylist, salon manager, hair colorist, salon owner, and/or product demonstrator. Education in this area will include: -Learning the proper use of implements relative to all Cosmetology services. -Acquiring the knowledge of analyzing the scalp, face, and hands before all services are done, and to determine any skin disorders. -The procedures and terminology used in performing all Cosmetology services. -The application of daytime and evening make-up including false strip eyelashes. -The proper procedures of manicuring with the use of water and oil, and pedicures. -The application of brush-on nails, wraps, and nail tips. |
